# 194: How To Know What Type Of Career Coaching Support Would Be Best For You
In today's episode I am talking about how to know what type of career coaching support would be best for you.
I speak to a lot of people who are feeling stuck in their role or career. They want to make a move but aren't sure how to make it happen. Sometimes they're looking into hiring someone to update their CV or LinkedIn profile or sometimes they're looking at job boards. These aren't the places to start!
It's important you follow the correct process. If you don't, somewhere along your journey, you will find yourself feeling confused. First, you need to get the clarity around what you want to achieve, then you get the support with the transition.
A lot of people start with getting one-to-one support from a coach, which is likely to last 3, 6, or 8 months. You will work with your coach and they can help you to focus on what you want to focus on, using strategies and helping you to overcome the mindset blocks.
Others may start with group coaching, and this is what I have seen to be the most valuable. When you are surrounded by people who have the same mindset, who are on a similar journey to you, you feel supported in a different way.
The coaching is supporting you and guiding you through, but you also get to see other people going through the process and this is what is so powerful - it shifts your belief around what is possible and re-enforces your belief around what is possible when you see it happening for others too.
What you will learn:
The power of community - When you're in a community, in times of doubting yourself you can borrow someone's belief. You can see first-hand their journey, share the same experience and support each other.
How to attract the role you want - Using the tools you already have, how you can strategically network, tap into the hidden job market and use your personal branding so you can position yourself to attract the type of opportunities you want
The benefits of group coaching - This is particularly important when you have been in your role for several years. The chances are your friends and colleagues are in the same industry and so when you say you want to make a career move, their reaction is not what you're looking for. Being a part of group coaching means you can interact with people who understand where you are coming from, possibly in the same situation you're in. The support is priceless.
